CAMPER ENGLISH

Camper English is a nightlife writer living in San Francisco, CA. His work has appeared in publications such as San Francisco Magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, The Lonely Planet Guide to San Francisco, and Playboy.com.

He visited his first nightclub in the 7th grade. It was Chuck E. Cheese's Teen Night in upstate New York, where the pizza and video games were free all night and the music was heavy on Howard Jones. He was hooked. In middle and high school he was a regular at stupidly-named clubs like Esprit and The New York City Club.

In college in Boston, he continued his outings to places like The Loft, Axis, and Venus De Milo, while driving as far away as Washington, DC for raves on the weekends. He had blue hair, platform sneakers, baggy jeans- the works.

Realizing he was the oldest person in the clubs at 25, he moved to San Francisco where ravers retire. There he began his career as a nightlife writer because he wanted to get paid to get down. Since then, he's written over 500 club and bar reviews.

Party Like a Rock Star is his first book.
